This is education, not advice

The information here is written for the general reader and does not replace a personal medical consultation. It cannot tell you whether either option is appropriate for your face, your health or your circumstances.

No outcome is guaranteed

No treatment can be guaranteed. Only part of grafted fat survives and the proportion cannot be predicted for an individual; filler is absorbed at a rate that varies; and a result is judged after the swelling has settled rather than in the first days.

Transferred fat cannot be dissolved

Grafted fat becomes the patient’s own tissue. There is no injection that removes it, and a portion can only be removed surgically. That is the most important limit of the procedure and it is discussed before treatment, not after.

Injectable treatment carries a rare serious risk

Material entering a blood vessel can compromise the blood supply to an area of skin and, rarely, to the eye. It is uncommon, it is the reason injectable treatment belongs to a trained clinician, and it is discussed as part of consent rather than omitted for reassurance.
